I'm Natasha Newton, a professional artist and illustrator living and working in England. I'm inspired by nature and patterns, stories and symbolism, birds and trees, which I incorporate into my paintings and illustrations. My art, which is often compared to the work of Maurice Sendak and Edward Gorey, has been described as 'simultaneously charming and edgy'.
I exhibit my work at galleries in Suffolk and London, and you can also buy selected pieces directly from me or via my Etsy shop 'The Blackbird Sings'. I recently completed two new collections of work for different shows: The Silent Landscape, a joint show in Aldeburgh, Suffolk in May 2009, and a solo show at the Serena Hall Gallery in Southwold, Suffolk in October 2009.
In March 2010 my work will be used by the book publishing company Random House as the cover art for a series of five books by the author Jorge Bucay.
