Hello from Paris! I've been here for a few days so I thought it was time to write a new blog post (by the way, you may notice that the blog has had a mini-makeover... ;)
So... I arrived at Gare du Nord on Tuesday evening, totally exhausted because I'd been working like a maniac in the weeks leading up to my trip - I was stressed and severely lacking sleep. Add to that a day of travelling and I'd pretty much had enough by the time I got here! But I've now had several days of rest, relaxation, sleep, good food...and most importantly, I'm finally back here with Leon. The results from his second operation for skin cancer came back totally clear on Friday (9th) so that's a HUGE relief! We're so thankful - he still has to have a body scan and x-ray to check that it hasn't spread to any other part of his body, but it's looking good so far.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few photographs I took with Leon's iPhone this afternoon during a walk in the 17th and 18th Arrondissements, along a street called Rue Cavallotti.
Many of the shops along the street were closed as it was a Sunday afternoon, and their shutters were painted with many different scenes, just a few of which I'm sharing here. They looked so good!
Earlier in the afternoon we got caught in a really heavy rain shower, but we'd come prepared with our Union Jack umbrella (purchased hastily one day from one of those little souvenir shops in London when we hadn't ventured out in a prepared fashion). But those of you who know me will know how much I enjoy a good rainstorm, so I loved it. :)
There's something so nice about just wandering around Paris on a Sunday, discovering new streets, new cafes (we stopped off for a coffee and a hot chocolate when the rain was at its worst), people watching, and taking photographs.
I'll be back soon with more! Until then, have a great week. x

So glad about Leon's biopsy news (now I'll keep hoping for good results from scans etc). Hope you both continue to have a really good time together. xx

Hello Fellow Non-Parisian in Paris! Is it brave to be wielding a union jacked umbrella in Paris or are those just nasty rumours about the French hating the British? We're always careful to clarify that we're Australian and not British, just in case ;)
Yay for Leon!

Isn't Paris beautiful in all weathers? (Well, maybe a tiny bit less when it's scorching hot.) It's good to know you are both enjoying the city, happy and in good health :)
