Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I'm in the studio working on some new canvas paintings today because my intention is to take tomorrow off and go out for a day of shopping with my mum. It's been a while and Norwich - with its gorgeous shops - is calling. Of course, I'll be stopping off at Jarrold's art department too - fingers crossed they have some half price Winsor & Newton canvases (as they often do), because I need to stock up for my shows later this year. If not, I'm sure I'll find some other art materials to tempt me. It's rare for me to leave there empty-handed...
I went to the doctors about the migraine attacks the other day and it was pretty helpful, but I'll tell you about that another time. Today, I just wanted to quickly share these small canvas paintings I've completed for two special little girls. A couple who are collectors of my work recently had twin girls and they wanted to commission two paintings especially for the twins. So here they are:
Look Up And See The Milky Way 1 & 2
Acrylic on deep-edge canvas. 6x6"

SOLD
[Edit] And here's how they look together (because I always think you can't get a real feeling for how a work of art actually looks in reality just by seeing a 'flat' image on a computer screen...)
I've also added a couple of new pieces (a framed bird painting and a new 'feather' stone) to the shop. You can go here if you'd like to see.

Natasha, Addie and Lowri's proud Dad here. I just wanted to say how utterly thrilled V and I are with the amazing enchanting paintings you've created for our Darling daughters. They look just as I'd imagined them to, with your trademark wispy smoke and your classic tiled roof. I love that you've been able to incorporate some of that fabulous blue colour you've been using lately, it's so striking. The houses themselves look like little havens of comfort, in what is quite a stern and foreboding landscape. I really like that quality in your work, that slight sense of edginess, it's what first drew me to one of your pictures years ago in Serena Hall.
I adore how you've made them connect. It's a masterstroke. Taken individually, they are as I describe above, havens of comfort, with a roaring fire inside, places of security. But put them together and they become a community, stronger, able to depend on each other, able to see each others light in the darkness. Much like I hope our girls will be with each other.
I love the names too. They are so totally a part of your canon of work. I'm so so glad you named them to fit into your oeuvre.
Thank you thank you thank you.
I can't wait till the day comes when I can tell them where their pictures came from, and I also can't wait for the day when they want me to tell them the story of the paintings, I will have such fun weaving a tale of the two lovely girls who live in those houses.
Once again, thank you so much Natasha, they are everything we hoped they would be and more.
With heartfelt thanks
