Nest Number Four

Hello there, I hope you all had a good weekend. :)
I spent the weekend shipping the last orders and new paintings for galleries before I make a start on the work for my solo show this week (yay), and also reorganising the studio. Ever since I decorated it several weeks ago it's been in a half-finished state (this is why I haven't shared any proper photos of it yet) and I became so busy with work that I had to put it on hold for a while. But a couple of weeks ago I found the perfect piece of studio furniture - a white metal, two-door, cabinet/sideboard from Ikea. It arrived last Thursday and is now in the studio, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's just what I was looking for! Lots of storage space so I can keep the place clean and tidy, and because it's so long and low, it will also be a nice place to display any finished work before it goes to a gallery (or a new owner), and some of my cherished little objects. So the studio is being thoroughly cleaned now that I have the opportunity to do so, and I'm also rearranging things slightly so I'll have more room to work on larger canvases for the show too.
Aside from that, I have two things to tell / show you! The first is that I finally deleted my personal Facebook page! It's something I've been meaning to do for ages because I never really used my account anymore, and I'm not a huge fan of Facebook for personal use (preferring Twitter, Instagram etc.) But the thing that always stopped me from deleting was the fact that I had an art / business page linked to that account. And getting rid of the personal account would also delete that page - and the 840 followers it had amassed - too. But as the page stood, I didn't use it, it felt messy with too much old work on there, and it wasn't updated regularly, so I decided to bite the bullet and delete everything.
And so now I've started afresh! I've set up a brand new art page and I will only be using Facebook via this page from now onwards. Obviously losing the 840 followers is somewhat annoying, but I hope to build a new fanbase - and this time the page will be active and interesting, and regularly updated with new content. I also hope that if you were a fan before, you will 'like' the new page too - it would be great to see you there again! At the moment, there's a little incentive to join too - if you 'like' the new page you will qualify for 20% off all orders in the shop this week if you enter the code BLACKBIRDFB at the time of checkout. Thank you to everyone who has 'liked' the page so far, and if you'd like to do the same you can find it here: www.facebook.com/natashanewtonart
I think it will take me a while to get up to 840 followers again though. ;)
And the other thing I'd like to show you is the most recent painting from the new Nest Series - Nest Number Four (which you can actually see at the top of this post). All four paintings have now been given to galleries, but I'll be making some especially for the shop very soon, and you'll be able to buy those ones directly from me. And then I'll be making some huge nests for my solo show - I can't wait to work on those!
I think you'll be back to 840 fans in no time! Love your new page and your nest paintings. I look forward to seeing photos of your studio organization, perhaps I can get some ideas for my own messy workspace.

Thanks Laura, although I think it's going to take quite some time to get back to 840! (I think it took about three years or so the first time around). I'll share photos of my workspace soon, as it's nearly finished now. It certainly feels good to have such an organised and beautiful space for the first time in my life! (My old studio was very cluttered, basic, and messy).
