I've started making some new painted stone collections again, and I'm enjoying it so much. I think it was good to have a little rest from painting these for a while as I now have renewed enthusiasm for them. The first collection is a commissioned set of 10 stones created especially for a client, based loosely on the collection I made for the Homes & Gardens magazine article last year, which you can see here and here.

The second collection, Ground & Sky 5, is one I made for The Blackbird Sings shop. You can find them here.

While making this set, I took a couple of progress shots in the studio:

You can see how much lighter the stones look before I apply the matte varnish; it really brings out the depth and colour. I also decided to replace the pinkish stone with a brown one.
And finally, I made this little collection, Three Feathers, for the A Bird A Day project. You can find this particular set in this shop.

Don't forget that 10% of all proceeds from the A Bird A Day shop goes to the charity Comic Relief, helping disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa, until 30th April.
